Animals Requiring Fat Supplements

Which Animals Require Bypass Fats?

It is generally agreed that lactating cows are the ones that require dietary fat supplements the most. This is because they faced the greatest amount of nutritional stress due to their generic potential for high milk production. With that being said, all ruminant animals (an even-toed ungulate mammal that chews the cud regurgitated from its rumen.) can benefit from rumen protected fats. Ruminant animals include cattle, sheep, antelopes, deer, goat, giraffes, and their relatives. Less traditional farmed animals  such as the buffalo and camels can also benefit from rumen bypass fats to help improve performance.
